Drop a .gif file onto the page or click to browse. Both static and animated GIFs are accepted.
Drag the crop frame on the first frame of the GIF. Use the toolbar to rotate, flip, or zoom.
The preview shows the cropped first frame — exactly what you'll download, with no animation.
Click Download. The output is a still PNG (with transparency) or JPG of the cropped region.
No — we're honest about this. We render the first frame of the GIF to a canvas and crop that. The output is a still PNG or JPG, not an animated GIF. Use a video editor if you need to crop while keeping animation.
Static PNG by default (which keeps the GIF's transparency) or JPG if you prefer smaller files. We don't re-encode as GIF because GIF's 256-color palette would degrade most cropped images.
Not with a browser-based image cropper. Convert the GIF to MP4 or WebM first (most modern tools can do this in one click), then crop the video with a video editor like CapCut or DaVinci Resolve to keep motion intact.
Yes. GIF supports 1-bit alpha (each pixel is either fully transparent or fully opaque). Choose PNG as the output format and the transparent pixels from your GIF will stay transparent.
We always crop the first frame, because it's the most predictable choice and what users almost always expect. If you need a specific frame, open the GIF in any frame extractor, save that frame as PNG, then upload the PNG here.
